Hickory Honey Ham Glaze

Hoosier Hill Farm Hickory Smoke Powder is the secret to savory hickory smoke flavor in every dish you make! This versatile seasoning powder can be used anywhere you use liquid smoke flavoring, and it lends a rich, fresh-off-the-barbecue, natural smoke flavor to brisket, ribs, steaks, chicken, and much more. Add this smoke powder to dry seasoning rubs to amp up the flavor of your favorite smoked meats, sausages, or jerky. Boost the flavor of marinades and barbecue sauces easily. Or, use it to season plant-based protein like tofu, tempeh, and seitan for vegetarian dishes with hearty flavor. You can even mix up your own dry barbecue seasoning to season potato chips, fries, popcorn, and other savory snacks.

How To Use: Our hickory smoke powder, like liquid smoke condensates, has a very bold flavor. We recommend starting with 1/4-1/2 teaspoon in your dry rub, seasoning blend, marinade, or sauce, then adjusting to taste before adding your meat or protein of choice. Be sure to blend thoroughly to ensure a uniform smoky flavor. Store dry seasoning blends made with hickory smoke powder in an airtight container or zip-top bag.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry place. We do not recommend refrigeration or freezing seasoning powders.

Directions

Step one: Preheat oven to 350F. Prepare a deep pan by lining it with foil and coating with a thin layer of cooking spray or olive oil.

Step two: Melt butter in a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Stir in brown sugar, Honey Powder, Hickory Smoke Powder, dijon mustard, pineapple juice, garlic powder, and paprika until combined. Allow the mixture to cook for about 5-7 minutes or until it somewhat thickens. Remove from heat.

Step three: Place your ham onto your prepared pan and brush 1/3 of the glaze over the ham. Bake for 1 1/2 hours.

Step four: Increase heat to 425F and brush the ham with half of the remaining glaze. Cook for an additional 15 minutes before brushing with the remaining glaze and broiling for 3-5 minutes.

Step five: Remove the ham from the oven and allow to rest for 10 minutes before serving.
