Oat Milk French Toast

Hoosier Hill Farm Oat Milk Powder is deliciously creamy, high in fiber and super low in fat. This plant-based milk powder is a versatile, dairy-free milk with no artificial colors, added sugar or preservatives. Our powdered oat milk is ideal for making non-dairy desserts, baked goods, hot cocoa mix, and smoothies. Or, simply stir it into your morning coffee for a creamy beverage with a natural sweetness and a mild, nutty flavor. Oat milk powder's long shelf life means it's always ready in your pantry for your next recipe.

How to Use Oat Milk Powder: In recipes calling for traditional, dairy powdered milk, you can substitute oat milk powder 1:1 for a similar result. When adding to batter in a dish like french toast or pancakes, we recommend combining all wet ingredients first, then adding the oat milk powder and combining thoroughly using a whisk or hand mixer before folding in any remaining dry ingredients. Using a milk frother or small whisk is a great way to avoid any lumps when adding powder to warm beverages like coffee or tea.

Directions for Mixing 1 Quart of Liquid Oat Milk: Combine 1 1/4 cups powdered oat milk with 3 1/2 cups of room temperature water. For a smooth and creamy consistency, we recommend blending the oat milk for 15-30 seconds using either a traditional blender, an immersion blender, or a hand mixer. For the best consistency, chill the blended oat milk overnight before using. When camping or travelling, liquid oat milk can also be blended by adding the ingredients to a tightly sealed container and shaking vigorously.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry place. We do not recommend refrigeration or freezing.

Ingredients

  • 4 tbsp Hoosier Hill Farm Oat Milk Powder
  • ¾ cup water
  • 3 eggs
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 6 slices of bread, we recommend using thick brioche bread
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp cardamom
  • Coconut oil for frying
  • Toppings of choice
  • Maple syrup for serving

Directions

Step one: In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, water, Oat Milk Powder, salt, cinnamon, and cardamom. Dip each slice of bread into the mixture and set soaked bread aside.

Step two: Heat oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat and brush with coconut oil. Add in coated bread and cook until golden brown. Serve with maple syrup and toppings of your choice.
