Baked Mac & Cheese

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Hoosier Hill Farm Cheddar Cheese Powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 ½ cups unsalted butter
  • 1 lb elbow macaroni
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp mustard powder
  • 6 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp freshly cracked black pepper
  • ½ cup panko breadcrumbs
  • Salt

Instructions

Step one: Preheat your oven to 400F with a rack in the center position.

Step two: Bring water to a boil in a large pot, add in a touch of salt. Add pasta and cook 1 minute shy of al dente according to the package. Strain when finished.

Step three: While the pasta cooks, make your cheese sauce. Melt 1 cup of butter in a dutch oven over medium heat. Once melted add in the flour, stirring until a paste forms. Whisk in the milk.

Step four: Add cheese powder, garlic powder, mustard powder, pepper, and a touch of salt into the sauce. Stir until the sauce is smooth and thick.

Step five: Once well blended, stir the cooked pasta noodles into the cheese sauce.

Step six: In a microwave safe bowl, melt the remaining ½ cup butter. Add the panko bread crumbs and coat completely. Sprinkle bread crumbs over the mac & cheese.

Step seven: Baking until the mac & cheese is golden, about 20 minutes. Remove from the oven and enjoy!
