Customers praised the large, fluffy, round kernels with "OUT OF THIS WORLD" texture and taste. Ideal for caramel corn. However, some noted excessive hulls that get stuck in teeth, higher unpopped kernel rates, and popcorn going stale quickly. Many called it the best they've tried, though texture can be chewy if not popped correctly.
- OUT OF THIS WORLD. The real deal, unlike any other popcorn you have ever tried
- Pops beautifully and deliciously with very few unpopped kernels
- Produces the largest fluffiest popcorn ever. Once we learned about it, we never looked back

In comparison your everyday microwave popcorn, these mushroom kernels pop into a more spherical shape. More expensive than your typical Orville butterfly popcorn but worth it in my opinion. When popped, I got nice large fluffy popcorn. Will definitely purchase again when I need more!
This popped up so big and fluffy!! It has a little snap to it too. I would’ve given it a 5 star but the amount of hulls was crazy. It won’t stop me from buying again though. I can’t wait to make my caramel corn!!
We LOVE how this pops into huge popped corn, with almost NO old maids!!Either way Plain or flavored (with Chocolate) it’s Delicious!
I read some reviews and it left me concerned, but I found using a $20 popper gives you perfect popcorn. Been trying to find that right popcorn for caramel popcorn and now I have it.
Fabulous popcorn! Nice and fresh, very few unpopped kernels, great flavor & great chew!
This popcorn is great! Pops up big! I bought it for making Carmel popcorn and it was perfect. Highly recommend.
I love these kernels. I was tired of over buttered pre-bagged popcorn, so I found these. I love how big the kernels pop and even the leftover unpopped kernels can be cooked again for a much crunchier snack. I bought a reusable popcorn bowl, and it has been a game changer.
This corn works very good in my air popper.Biggest disappointment was there are way to many husk pieces in the bottom of the bowl. Other then the ones that would fly out at the end just about every thing popped.
We heard this was good popcorn so gave it a shot. We usually use Orville, which is much less expensive. Initial results with this mushroom popcorn were kind of disappointing, then we got some coconut oil and it made a huge difference! We still need to do a side by side with Orville and coconut oil, but this was good, and the cat likes it too!
This pops nice and large. Good taste. My only problem is that there are too many kernals that don't pop. I know there will be some that don't pop, but there are more than expected.
A real bang for your buck, this popcorn is the same exact kind you'd get from popcornopolis or any other place that makes flavored popcorns. I absolutely love the texture of this popcorn and enjoy adding cheese powder as a topping. The only thing I don't like about it is how fast the popcorn goes stale. It takes less than 10 minutes after cooking for it to get stale, but if you're able to scarf it down super quick immediately after cooking, then good on you!
I like the freshness and the flavor and the value for your money. What I didn’t like was that it had the hulls I was expecting to be less hulls.
About 1% of the popcorn needed to be removed because it was undersized, broken, black, etc. They need to improve their process of cleaning up their product. I used a colander to help clear out small and broken pieces. Then I spent 20 minutes stirring popcorn in a large container to remove bad pieces. What’s left made the best popcorn I may have ever had.
I like the large size of the popped kernels. But after it pops the popcorn hulls are all over the place, on the bowl, on the popcorn and eventually in your mouth. I think this ruins the whole experience! Now I have to eat it because it cost so much. Had I known the hulls would be so bad I wouldn't have ordered it.
Too many loose husks in container!
There seemed to be more unpopped kernels then I expected. I've used several different kernels in my theater style popper, and this didn't yield as much popped corn. The flavor was good though.
This quality product popped up big with a wonderful flavor and texture. The 4-LB container was perfect to store in the freezer to ensure freshness. Enjoying delicious Hoosier Hill Mushroom Popcorn while viewing movies and sports. I recommend it. Thank you. AL
Sometimes it can be hit-and miss on popcorn, but I've had good luck with Hoosier Hill Farm. The key for popping is high heat. I use the old-school whirly pop on medium-high heat. Turn it on, and put in a bit of oil. Add 3 or 4 kernels and wait for the popping. Then add the rest of the popcorn and stir. They need to pop fast for the mushroom to, well, mushroom. And if you use high heat, that's what you get.
Unlike other previously purchased mushroom type popcorns, this one has a good taste.
I knew there was a different type of popcorn kernel but never new what it was called. This is AWESOME that I was finally able to find what I have been looking for. This is a different type of kernel that you will find companies that make higher end caramel corn, flavor coated popcorn using. It has less of the husk remaining when popped. I love it and look forward to making my caramel corn with it! Thank you so much! Will definitely keep buying this and I hope you keep offering it for us to purchase. Look at Cretors caramel and cheese flavored popcorn you will see they use this type of kernel.
When the package came, it was damaged and the freshness seal was broken, probably due to shipment. I was skeptical about how they would pop. I used a nostalgia popcorn popper and was very surprised! They popped very well and was very airy. There were hulls, but they are bearable to me. The only issue I had was there were quite a few un-popped kernels, but that could have been due to the equipment I was using. Overall, I'll be ordering more from Hoosier Hill Farms.
Might be a little more expensive than your typical popcorn but the nice round pieces it produces is worth the extra money.
If you like big popped corn, this is it
A little tough to chew
I love to make kettle corn and it comes out perfect
Great popcorn pops up very large. Great flavorUsed in air popper almost all the kernels popped
I popped mine in our whirly pop, and it comes out delicious! But the kernel husk is very sharp, and the popcorn goes stale very quickly. If you get this popcorn, make sure to pop it in small batches to prevent it from going stale.
I liked the popcorn although it sure had a lot of husks.
These kernels produce a rounder white popcorn with a denser texture, suitable for making caramel corn or cheddar cheese flavored popcorn. The shells are a bit thicker than you might be used to with movie theater popcorn or the popular Orville Redenbacher brand, which affects the chew more than you might expect. The several batches I've made, I have a larger portion of unpopped kernels, bits of shell, or half-popped kernels. So, overall lower "popability."Overall, I like the product because I like to make differently seasoned popcorns but I'm having a hard time getting the cooking techniques down to ensure a consistently good pop.
