How to Make Neapolitan Ice Cream at Home

Churn each flavor using the on-pouch ratios (11.8 oz mix with 21.2 oz cold water per quart), then layer chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry in a loaf pan and freeze until firm for a classic sliceable Neapolitan. Prefer scoops? Serve all three side by side, the way Neapolitan was born: the three-flavor style traces back to Naples, where Italian ice cream makers molded layered flavors together, and the chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry trio became the American standard.

The mixes work in most home ice cream machines. For Ninja Creami style makers, prepare each base, freeze in the pint container for 24 hours, then process on the Ice Cream setting. Directions for specific machines are on our machine instructions page.
